You are more correct than you know. It was snowing and 20mph winds just an hour prior to those pictures being taken.

You do an awesome job with your photography. Is it a hobby or do you do it professionally?  Is there anywhere where you describe your setup?

a couple of those shots look like HDR. is that the case, and if so, what were your camera settings to get the spent casings as well as the multiple exposures?

It was a hobby that evolved into a profession. My studio is currently being built.

All of the shots above were natural lighting and set to AV and ISO: auto. Lens was a Canon EFS 10-22mm

That one is a SWR GS9K3, which is the predecessor to the SWR Shadow 9.

These are all just one RAW exposure. RAW will enable you to squeeze as much detail out of the shadows and highlights as possible. JPEG compression algorithm tends to clip shadow and highlight information in order to achieve a smaller file size.  Generally speaking, the camera is set to AV mode and ISO set to AUTO to maximize shutter speed. If lighting conditions are constant manual mode is the way to go because shooting upwards at the subject in other modes can make the camera expose for the sky, thus underexposing the subject.

That would be due to the 45-60 minutes of post processing (burning, dodging, curves adjustment, sharpening, highpass) in photoshop.

Guns or Cameras?

I'd like to learn a few things from you about post processing...  What part of the world is your AO?

Edit:  what kind of .22 is that?  Marlin?
