Just got a text alert saying an X1 class solar flare was detected. Whoo Hooo! Aviator $5 a month for text alerts? Thats lame. Not if you live in Alaska and it allows you to plan for watching the Northern Lights. I'll bet if you check yourself, you can find something lamer you spend $5 a month on. Aviator |

Just got a text alert saying an X1 class solar flare was detected. Whoo Hooo! Aviator Awesome, sounds like you are in a great area to see the Aurora Borealis. The only thing I would worry about during this event is a cloudy sky. ![]() Actually, I am down in Williston ND working in the Oil patch...

Aviator A properly aimed x1 should still give you results there, though. Look at the size of the spot turning our way now.

I'm hoping a tightly focused X50 event wipes out all of China's electrical infrastructure and electronics, while leaving our half of the planet alone. Electromagnetic storms are far more damaging to the Western World than our adversaries. If you wish for China's downfall due to nature, with timid effects in the West, you're after a disease, not weather. |
