I start school on the 19th to get my cdl-a.
Has anyone here been to daly's in buford ga.?

I've been in the towing business for the last fifteen years, and i'm tired of dead end jobs with no benefits or future. Not to mention everyone hates the tow truck/ repo man.
I've done a fair amount of research, but would like to get the input of some like minded people.

Give me your best and worst of the trucking industry. Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Any good companies that hire straight out of school?

I am a pretty solitary person and have no wife or kids, so being away for long periods is no problem.

This is arfcom, where they all hate truck drivers.

Depends what company you get in with, on how good you get it.  Also figure a lot of waiting at the docks, after waiting to get in.

I've been driving for 15 years.

The industry gets a little worse every year. My last raise of any kind was in 2006.

Anyway, stay away from Stevens/Covenant/CRST/Werner/Knight/C R England

Yeah Arfcom hates truckers, but they will tell you that they have driven 130 mph on public roads, and they will tell you about all they times they have driven drunk

I've been an O/O since I started driving, so I can't give you any advice on companies. Carrying in a Cv is legal as long as your employer doesn't have any policies against it and if it is legal in the states you go through.

LOL. I am an Ops guy for a fleet of about 40 Reefers. To make it worse, we do a (very profitable) niche within the reefer world. LTL. So, Frozen and refrigerated product, AND it is LTL.

Worst of both worlds

Don't haul chickens, cows, groceries, or logs.

I would include petroleum products, but I did that for quite a few years.
