| Many of us, use our phones constantly. They go wherever we go, whether it be cities, countries, wilderness, etc. My question is, what are your favorite case for your phone? |
|
Depends on your phone. If you have an iphone, then this is it.
Magpul Phone Case |
|
I am a big fan of Otterbox. Had one on my workphone and ended up getting the beefier model for my personal.

I've had several Otterboxes, I always end up having to replace them every...well the 4S Defender Series made it a whole 5 weeks and a friend of mine's made it 3 weeks and my 3G Commuter Series lasted 3 months (the replacement CS lasted 3 iPhones in 5 months and is serving my father happily today along with the 3rd replacement 3GS). Oddly enough, I have never cracked a screen or had any actual phone damage to the exterior. Usually the heat is what kills my phones, ex one got put on my tailgate for 30 min in July 2010...never worked right again and took a full hour for the overheat screen to go away once I moved it into the shade.
The case I'm really loving right now is my recently purchased Lifeproof case. Best part, it is a waterproof case and actually works, great for someone who is always around water (only phone I had that was ever damaged by water was my first cell phone when I was a freshman in high school). |
|
Yeah. I like the one I have on my 4S. I have an Otterbox Defender too but only used it for a day or two. I decided I could not stand having such a bulky case. The Magpul case offers protection from bumps and scratches which is all I care about. |

I have a Morphie case on my IPhone that also has a 2000 mah battery built into it. My phone came flying out of the Kenworth and landed on the floor yesterday with no damage. I also found the Otterbox too bulky.

| I posted here some time back about cases and was warned off the Otterbox because of the bulk. I ended up buying one anyway and love it personally the size is not really an issue with me I am more concerned with protecting my phone and it does that well. I bought mine on Amazon and paid like $17 for the Defender for the iphone 4 which is great because they generally go for almost $50. I tend to abuse phones and they generally get pretty beat up very quikly when I carry them for any pieriod of time. With the Otterbox if I take my phone out of the case it looks like the day I bought it while the case and screen protector are beat to hell. |

Otterbox Defender. It's saved me two iPhones so far. And their customer service is outstanding. I wanted to buy new silicone covers for both my wife's and my cases. I contacted Otterbox and they said they would just send me two new cases. They should be here Friday. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
| I do like Otterbox cases...everyone I have bought has never lasted more than 3 months. Yes, Otterbox does have a great warranty and customer support group but eventually you do get tired of dealing with them whether it's for your case or your friends. My only other complaint about the Otterbox cases is that they were not as "West Texas proof" as I would've liked. In other words, I was still constantly blowing dust out of the headphone/mike and speaker orifices. Time will tell how the life proof case treats me, but so far it is looking good. |

|
I had a couple Otterboxes for my iPhone for the past few years.
Finally got tired of carrying around all the bulk. It's been case free for the past few weeks but I just ordered the MagPul Field case. Hope it's better than the Executive Field case. That one was too thin and would keep on hitting the silent switch time and time again. |

You guys are your insane cases. I'll never get it. I buy the thinnest case I can find and I've never even damaged a phone. I don't damage phones, just trash cases. One (and a fairly new pair of jeans) got cut pretty badly when the wire I was stretching broke free one day from the come along. The phone in my pocket at that point probably kept me from going to the ER for stitches. The other day a friend of mine and I were out coyote hunting in his '86 CUCV (dually conversion) and if you've ever been in one of those at night, you know that the in cab lights are basically floor lights. Well my phone was sitting on my lap (I didn't know this) I got out of the truck to take aim and when I got back in we started rolling and I realized I didn't have my phone...found it under the dual. |

This explains why I have no Otterbox issues. You have the sun. <==Otterbox Defender. |

Lifeproof. This. I have an otterbox defender for my 3g and my wife has a lifeproof on her 4g and it is much nice. My otterbox has withstood alot of abuse but the rubber is falling off and the screen isnt always clear. Lifeproof is well worth the money. |
WTH are you guys doing to your Otterboxes if they are only lasting 3 months?![]() I bought a Defender case when I got my Evo 3D in June or July. Nary an issue, and it's been dropped more than a few times. Saved it too, when I turned on the sprinkler in the backyard and forgot my phone on the patio table. |

I have one of these and I love it. http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/karas-kustoms-iphone-4-case.jpg Also, before I got the case I broke the back glass and replaced it with a metal back instead. The phone holds up to abuse pretty well. Found it... |

I have that case. I like it, though it's totally corny. Had an Otterbox. It was fucking retarded. It turned my phone into a life raft. |

Bulky and heavy, but adds an extra 8 hours of TALK time. The Magpul Field case is a nice minimalist case and I also give a thumbs up for the Lifeproof. Not a fan of Otterbox products for the 4/4S. Their Defender for the 3GS was great. |

When you routinely have to answer your phone when at the top of a 14 foot ladder, and do things like use the thing as a mini sat-nav GPS in your boat while hunting; the bulk becomes secondary to the ability to survive conditions and accidents that would render your (unsubsidized, $500+) smartphone useless. |
| I have an Otterbox Defender for my Samsung Galaxy S, but i stopped using it. It made the phone too big to comfortably carry in my pocket, and it was responsible for lots of errant key-presses. I have a Body Glove rubber skin for it now, but mostly I just go bare-back. The phone has been dropped a lot, but is just fine. |

Saved it too, when I turned on the sprinkler in the backyard and forgot my phone on the patio table. the otterbox plastic is very brittle, and the silicone cover stretched out too fast. i'm a fan of TPU cases and a decent screen protector. Probably too minimalist for most of you guys, but it fits in my pocket and has saved the phone from multiple drops onto pavement. It doesn't stretch out like silicone covers, and it doesn't stick to the inside of your pocket. |
| I used an Otter Box for my HTC Eris Droid. It worked great and was relatively slim. However, when I looked at the Otter Box for the iPhone 4S, it makes the phone look and feel like a brick (very thick). I imagine it would do a good job of protecting the phone, but I need to be able to get it in and out of my front shirt pocket easily, and the Otter Box makes this difficult. I'm contemplating the MagPul version, as the most trouble I have is the phone falling out of my shirt pocket when I bend over. |

A friend of mine has had 4 screens (not cases, not screen protector) on his iPhone 4 since Verizon introduced them less than a year ago. Last week he fell while snow boarding. Wasn't a hard fall, wasn't even on ice. There is a dent in the plastic on the ring that goes around the screen, popped the screen protector out, and spider webbed the screen. That Otterbox was 3 weeks old. I've tried many different setups for cases, once I just used an Apple bumper with front and back mil-spec screen protectors which worked well. My main problem was still dust though. |
