I have noticed that the Victorinox models cost quite a bit more than the Wenger models.

Is the quality that different between the two?

Go hold on to one of each and you'll know the answer.

That said, a Wenger isn't so cheap as to not be worth it. Really depends on what you want to spend your $$ on.

I had a Victorinox for several years of hard use.  Highly recommended.

The last two Wengers I have bought both had " Made in China " stickers on the movements ( guts ) so not really Swiss made....more like assembled in Switzerland . Good watches though never had any problems.

The leather band on my Victorinox broke right away, I still have not found a replacement, but I also haven't been looking all that hard.  Other than that, it seems like a decent watch.

Russian army watch>Swiss army watch
Seriously, take a look at the Vostok Komandirskie, or better yet, a Vostok Amphibian. Superbly tough and mechanical watches for $40-$80 shipped from the motherland.

I've had two Wengers (gifts) and both were total shit, one died after about six months.

Buy knives from knife companies and watches from watch companies.

This is so true.
