i purchased a firearm from a person online on 2-1-2012 and sent USPS m/o on same day, they received m/o 2-4-2012 according to USPS confirmation and still have not shipped the firearm! i forgot to add that also included in USPS m/o was an extra $10 for insurance and confirmation on the package. when emailed about the firearms shipping date this person has only excuses blaming post office or the carrier that they claim will be shipping the firearm.

how long would you wait before contacting USPS and filing a fraud claim against the person who cashed the m/o?
thanks for your input!

I just bought a revolver from a forum member. He received the MO Friday. He shipped yesterday. I think you've given this guy plenty of time.

I wouldn't expect much from the part in red.

I would contact the seller again. I would post on whatever forum or auction site and explain what happened.
If you have a phone number, or can find one, give the seller a call and tell him you want your gun shipped.

I sold my CX4 on the EE last week.  Payment cleared Thursday and I shipped Friday, though I'd've felt okay shipping Monday instead.

But two weeks is way too long.

Contact an EE mod to intervene before you try the fraud route.

(Caveat: banks likely have a clearance delay even for money orders, and waiting out that delay before shipping is not unfair.  It's a safeguard against fraud.)

But the seller should, IMHO, make it clear that is what he is doing.

Yeah, two weeks and replies blaming UPS is definitely not a clearance issue.  He's just dragging his feet.

Pressure from an EE mod should motivate him.

yes i did! they advertised a rifle i was interested in and i asked for pics, got them and replied i would buy it! i sent the USPS m/o out the same day(2-1-12) with confirmation and m/o was delivered on 2-4-12 according to USPS. i waited and sent email on the next day(sunday) asking if they had received the m/o and they replied they and their neighbors hadn't received mail for the previous 2 days.  a few hours later they replied they had found the mail(on Sunday 2-5-12) and it would  ship asap!  i wait 2-3 days and ask again about shipping  and wait for another response whenever they wish to answer. last response, they were going to call FedEx to see why they haven't picked it up yet! this is a private individual from this forum.
they have had my USPS m/o since Saturday 2-4-12(which is as good as cash) and still have not shipped my rifle.

Contact a mod for the subforum the ad was in.

The mods can be found by clicking the triangle icon next to the forum name near the top of the page when you're viewing its threads or a post in it.  Or just use the Report button on the actual ad post.  You don't want the guy banned or anything, you just want them to ask wtf is up.
