Okay, I can use some ideas. Been dating the man for six months. He says he doesn't want anything for his birthday. For my birthday he took me and my kids to dinner. I can't really afford that for him, I'd invite his daughters over but it would be a logistical nightmare! Anyway, I just want to do something simple and nice to show he's important. |

Quoted: Pics aren't loading. ![]() Seriously? ![]() Do you like to bake? Maybe a batch of cookies, a cake, a pie (real pie).. I know Ive always appreciated baked goods. It's fairly inexpensive, but took some time in doing, and that means something. Okay, I was planning to make him dinner and a cake. I was going to super clean his house (he's neat but he doesn't dust/vacuum or mop very often) but my car broke down and he fixed it for me so I did this for him yesterday. |

lol I can't think of anything else to say. you're expecting anything else from GD?
aside from the above suggestions, get him something little for whatever hobby he is into, be it shooting or cars or whatever Failing those, get a babysitter and take him to a nice dinner or go out for desert and a drink after a home made meal. But like others have said, males aren't hard to please

He doesn't drink and he works such odd hours (on call 24/7) that its hard to determine what his hobby is. He does enjoy golfing and shooting with me, but he never did either until we started dating. |

Seriously, I love the leg humpers and the brutal honesty... I just wish my wife would do as suggested. Yep. When I want/need something I generally get it for myself anyway. From the wife, I get shirts (have plenty...she does have good taste, but generally it's not something I NEED), ties (I hate wearing them...had to during my Residency, and on 'serious' occasions...but avoid them at most other times), etc. Much, Much rather have my bones jumped. |

Last night I grilled artichoke, and had snow crab, over a salad. |

' I recall a old internet post - What men really want. Doubt I could find it again - but translated roughly was show up wearing an overcoat and holding a six pack. Then again I have never gotten it (even though my wife forwarded it to me originally). My wife has even suggested that I need to buy an overcoat. |

Well girl, after knowing how hard you had it in the past, I am glad to hear you have met someone who seems to be making you happy.
Like has already been said, guys are really basic creatures who are pretty easy to please. If you arent ready for, or arent really into, what has been the most popular suggestion thus far, might I suggest a nice home cooked meal with a romantic setting. If you are really wanting to get him something, consider a nice birthday card that comes closest to how you feel about him and include a gift card that you know speaks to his interests. I would much rather have a gift card than something like a RONCO tie clip organizer. If you cant peg his interests down, you can always get him a VISA gift card or a gas card (these are usually appreciated). Like I said, we are easy to please creatures. No sense in wracking your brain trying to come up with something. |
