| Where's a good site to do my taxes for free? I only have a simple form. |
|
I have been going to a very good site called www.FreeTaxUSA.com for about 8 years.......very trustworthy, very easy to navigate and you can go back and pick up where you left on in the processing of the return. A couple folks I work with also do theirs on that same site.
I got my Fed tonight......I e-filed both Fed and State. State will likely be here in a day or three. |

I got a TurboTax kit in the mail and loaded it onto my PC, and I found it much harder to understand in the deductions area than FreeTaxUSA.com, so I went back to my trusty old steed and filed that way.
Turbotax... Highly recommended by Turbo Tim Gheitner. eta: ... shit man - they even efile it for you... http://turbotax.intuit.com/ |

Taxact.com irs.gov has a listing of free providers as well Be careful with that, it doesn't do well at giving you your max refund back, between that and Turbotax and using the same exact deductions on both, Turbotax made my refund over 1K larger. Think it was over Taxact not allowing me to claim the kiddo last year due to age even though you can claim up to 24 when they are in college. [he was 22] Did have to pay $25 for the direct deposit but that was a no brainer. |
