DPD officer Involved Shooting
DENVER - Police say an off-duty Denver Police officer confronted two men during a robbery attempt at a drugstore Thursday afternoon. It happened at the Walgreens at Green Valley Ranch and Tower Road.
When the two men jumped the counter to rob the pharmacy, a female officer pulled her weapon to stop them. One of the suspects attacked her and wrestled her gun away. A shot was fired during the struggle but no one was hurt. One of the suspects left the store, drove across the street and carjacked a driver at a Grease Monkey. Both men got away in separate vehicles. A description of the suspects has not been released. And the comments made me

| My strength coach lived next door to one of the guys and last night the swat team came in and cleared everyone out of the apartment. Then then rushed the dudes place and got him in custody without incident. This was at an upscale apartment building in Superior... Freaked my coach out. He kept saying that the swat team were carrying ak's and shit, and I had to keep telling him no, they were probably Benellis and M4's or AR's. lol |

I dont see this as a bad shoot more so a case of bad numbers. Two on one is shitty even if you're drawn and leveled. Im not sure how I feel about the whole situation; after all she did lose her firearm and lost control of the two suspects. But Im going to back the DPD on this one for actually trying to stop someone from comitting a crime. Plus the fact that I used to live literally right behind this walgreens, I understand the type of folks that live in this area. Ive had to use force at my home before and Ive had to call the cops at least three times in the span of two months because I didnt have the means to deal with these fucktards.
I do agree with you though, If the news would report everything as opposed to the shitty deals, people would probably be more tollerant when we do use lethal force. |
