Did it work, any of those crazy side effects?
I went to the smoking cesitation class here on base today and I have an appointment tomorrow and I will be getting a 3 month supply. |

I tried it. After two weeks of waking up wanting to suckstart a Glock from the nightmares, I figured my life expectancy was longer taking my chances with cancer. Hope it works better for you. Yea the doc told the class we would have "vivid" dreams and that if the guys in the class were married we should tell our wives that they we going to be vivid erotic dreams

I quit smoking a bit over a year ago using Chantix. It worked fantastically for me. Make sure not to take your evening pill within about 3 hours of bedtime and your crazy dreams will be minimized. I honestly thought the one 1mg pill each day in the morning was enough for me, and didn't even take the second pill. They will start you out with .5mg pills and ease you into the full strength ones. For me, after about 4-5 days I just had no desire to smoke anymore, I finished out one last pack, tossed it, and chantix made sure I didn't want another for a couple of months. I'm done for good. ETA: Zyban was not nearly as easy for me, I turned into a raging anger-beast on that shit, but I did quit (for about 4 years). |

A pack a day for 19 years zyban, patches and nicotine gum all failed. Chantix worked and I had little side effects, Some crazy dreams but that was about it. You will appreciate your health back and the extra money. Good luck Glad it worked for you. P.s. fuck Syracuse.

I quit just over a year ago. Only intolerable side effect was nausea and vomiting after the morning dose. 1/2 cup of oatmeal just before the morning dose took care of that. Vivid dreams, but if anyone stops taking chantix over some vivid fucking dreams, they really just don't want to stop smoking.
I had a child on the way, so I had a real reason to quit. |

I smoked for ~20 years.
I tried Zyban and I think I smoked more when taking it. When Chantix came along two friends and myself decided to try it. All of us quit smoking. Yes, it might mess with your head a little and be damn sure to eat something before taking the pill. 4.5 years smoke free. |
|
I used it to quit. Went from over a pack a day to 3 a day without making any effort. I just started taking them and kept smoking until I didn't want to.
After a month or so, I had a bad hangover and didn't pick them up anymore Eventually, I went back. Missed the nicotine too much, but now I snus. Not perfect but an improvement from smoking. The only side effect I noticed was that after a week or so, when it really started working, I would realize that I was furious for no reason. |

I tried Chantix last year and it made me very jumpy, irritable, anxious, and very hard to be around. My sleep schedule was all fucked up because of the dreams and it made me an even lighter sleeper. I think there were other factors such as being moved to a shift at work filled with assholes and a boss who was a major shit stirrer who liked to fuck with me. I knew something had to give when a co-worker pissed me off and I was so mad I wanted to beat the shit out of him and I'm never like that. It took me over three hours to calm down.
I took the stuff for a few months and I will say it didn't work that well for me. What did work well is the patch and the will not to smoke. It all just takes time. |

My fiancee used it for 2 weeks. She chose not to go any longer than that because that's all the pills she was given and she didn't want to buy more. She didn't complain of any bad dreams... come to think of it, she never complained of any good dreams either.
Good luck quitting. I stopped when she did Feb 2011... i'm ready to start up again because I've got some seriously high stress levels right now. |

I took it and it smoked for the two weeks or whatever it said to until smoking would no longer be pleasurable. And while it was no longer AS pleasurable I continued to smoke and take the Chantix. Then I had an asthma attack that put me in intensive care and I almost died. I quit smoking by using the nicotine losenges that are the only things that have made me forget cigarettes. But now I can't get of the losenges. My case is probably pretty unique. But good luck getting off the cigarettes. They are unhealthy and expensive. I have heard first hand a lot of people swear by the Chantix. It gave me crazy dreams, but I pretty much enjoyed them.

Fuck that shit, you will think about killing yourself with the horn of the unicorn you dreamt about. Cold turkey, it's the only way to be sure. (2 packs of lucky strike non-filtered a day) |

Quoted: Does insurance cover it? I've finally got pretty damned good insurance but I still don't like going to the Doc. ![]() I'm pretty sure most any insurance will. It's damn expensive stuff though, I actually gave my leftover 60 days worth to a buddy, who quit smoking using it too. |

My brother tried that shit and he said "vivid" is an understatement. Legalized LSD is more like it. |

Tried it for a short time, fucked up dreams, never seemed quite right. You could feel it messing with your brain. Fuck that shit. Bought an e-cig about a week and a half ago, haven't smoked a single cigarette since I got it. Figure I'll change the 'addiction' to just nicotine and vapor rather then nicotine and carcinogens for about a month, making this the go-to 'habit', then quitting a relatively harmless habit. Can even dial back the nicotine content like the patch. Already got my smell and taste back, nothing stinks, my breathing capacity is increasing rapidly, and my voice is so much clearer. Even if I 'revert' back to this when trying to quit it, you can 'smoke' these in a library if you felt like it, without having to stink up everything again that you just cleaned/threw out. Have absolutely no desire for a traditional cigarette, they smell and taste like absolute dogshit once you get used to flavored vapor. And I only bought it out of curiosity, had zero plans to quit, went from nearly two packs to just this instantly. Even had half a pack sitting on my desk untouched until a couple days ago I when I threw them out. |

yes. tried it after a number of people claimed that it was "like magic". it worked exactly as advertised. without even trying, i dropped from a pack a day to 3-4 cigarettes a day within a few weeks. side effects are said to vary person to person. i was a walking erection the entire time i was on it. i mean, it was like being back in high school again––warm breezes got me hard. this probably had something to do with the reduced nicotine intake as well, but it was startling. as for the dreams, they were...uhhh...arousing. a few odd ones––nothing disturbing––but mostly they were just sexual. this, combined with the earlier effect, meant that there were a number of times i had to sit around waiting, fully dressed and ready to walk out the door, for the morning wood to go down. wound up hooking up with 2 of my exes, which caused no end of drama. from talking to other people, if you start getting unusually depressed or begin ideating bad things, stop IMMEDIATELY and tell your doctor. good luck! |

I want crazy dreams. Score you some for a couple weeks. I'd take it just for the dreams if they made a drug just for that reason. CRAZY VIVID dreams that seem like a real memory. You remember every little detail as if it really happened. That sounds really cool but I do not even smoke. I guess I better start so I can quit.

I used it. Coming up on 1 year cigarette free. Dreams were strange while on it but not too bad. I actually slept better while I was on it. You're allowed to smoke the whole first 7 days while it builds up in your system. After the 4th day I quit and never went back. I was a 10+ year pack+ a day smoker. |

The dreams were awesome. I really enjoyed that part. It fucks up the timing of your GI tract though...you either can't shit or have days where all you do is blow room clearing farts in rapid succession. I quit smoking after a week and a half of taking it. That was 5 years ago. You'll know it's working when you have a cigarette and upon putting it out immediately feel like you still need a cigarette because you didn't get the nicotine buzz from the first one. Then you will start to become physically repulsed to the idea of smoking. Stay on it for the full 90 days to ensure your new habits take root and you don't fall back into old patterns. |
