So my co-worker left his cell phone on his desk. I noticed this after his coma and heart inducing Krispy Creme and Dominoe's pizza lunch that his phone had a noticeable smudge on the screen. Yes, its a Z and it is his unlock code for his phone, I checked. What would ARFCOM do? He links his photo bucket, email, twitter, Facebook and all that good stuff on his phone. Should I Rick Roll him, update his Facebook page that the burning has finally gone away thanks to the pills and lotion, tweet that his moms baby really is his, email his resignation to the boss, or simply notify him of his massive security failure? No poll, just taking suggestions.

edit - Ill leave it be, thanks for good advice. Gotta keep a good conscience.

He leaves the damn thing all over the place. Sometimes on the toilet back, on the microwave, out front on the smoking bench. Its crazy the number of times he is frantically looking for it and someone brings it to him. That and his car keys.

Find a gay Zorro image for his wallpaper and see if he figures it out.

At least thats what I'd do.

I'm not a lame ass by any means, but I'd hate for someone to mess with my stuff, especially if it's only a co-worker. A friend? Sure I can handle that. Some guy from work? Fuck no.

The quick simple "gotcha"...  Roll up your sleeve, bend arm and take a pic where your forearm meets your bicep... it will look amazingly like an ass crack without having to get caught with your pants down.  Set as wall paper and facebook profile pic.  Deny all involvement.  I've done this many times to unattended cameras and phones.

Car keys go in water then to the freezer...  Of course don't freeze the chipped keys.

Leave it alone. You do not know what he has on his phone and what he would do should he find out you f'ed with it.

True story:

Two employees (good friends as well, with kids on the same Tball team) were working in Minot ND... One of them takes the others cellphone and was messing around with it. The guy had naked pictures of his wife on that phone. The guy flipped out, took a knife and slit his friends throat. Came back a minute or two later and finished him off.

Do not mess with his phone.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Texas man accused of killing a fellow oil field worker at a North Dakota hotel has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Charles Davis II, 32, of Trinity, Texas, is accused of stabbing to death 48-year-old Donald Flowers of Wichita Falls, Texas, in Minot on March 12. Authorities say the two men were employed by the Halliburton company and were working in a hotel conference room when they got into a fight.
Davis also is accused of stealing a vehicle and trying to flee. Police Sgt. David Goodman testified in court Thursday that Davis had Flowers' blood on his clothing and a knife in his possession when he was arrested near Bismarck.
Goodman says Flowers was stabbed six times in the neck area.

Depending on where he works / who he works for, could be a reportable security incident by leaving it all around or having an easy to guess password depending on their policy.

What kind of friendship do you have with him?

Some of my friends, cell phones, laptops ect. are good to go.

Others, I'd leave it be as it's none of my business.

If I want to access my company email, the server forces a auto lock password on my phone.    5 or more charactors, and after 8 failed attempts, it wipes the phone. longest time for the phone to be idle before locking is 1 minute.

It seems like it would be funny now, but in this economy, can you really afford to prank like this when it could lead to you being unemployed? Do you have people counting on you and your ability to make a paycheck?

Just some things to consider...
