Freedom?
The older I get the more I wonder, "Why?" Just because you're free to do something doesn't make it a good idea, or explain the why. I have the freedom to slam my dick in my car door, doesn't explain why I might want to do such a thing or make it a wise course of action. |

Any other diagnonsenses there Freud?Quoted: The older I get the more I wonder, "Why?" My guess is either undiagnosed clinical depression or personality disorder. Whatever the reason, I don't get it. For what it's worth, I'm not talking about tattoos or common piercings. There is nothing really wrong with any of it, and I really couldn't care less what people do to their bodies. Still....when you do this... http://www.cbsnews.com/i/tim//2010/07/20/Subdermal_Implants_and_stretching.jpg ...something isn't wired the way it is for most of society. Doesn't make him a bad guy...but it does place him outside the norm, which in this world gets you classified with a disorder. Don't blame the modern psychology industry on me |

Yeah, but if I were to tell every person I see that smashing my dong is something that I'm into, it would make them look askance at me, because it's weird and unpleasant - the sort of thing that people would go out of their way to avoid happening to them. It's sort of like people into S&M - it's weird and gross (my person opinion), and since a lot of other people think that, you don't see a lot of folks wearing BDSM gear out in public, or even t-shirts advertising their fetishes. They keep stuff private that would cause others to judge them negatively. Body modifications, especially on the order displayed, fall into the same category. In general, people are going to try and avoid having permanent markings inscribed upon their faces, or having holes placed in their bodies. Knowing that someone actively seeks it out makes you look differently at them. And putting that on your face is advertising to the world that you're into doing some very bizarre stuff to your body. It's all about perceptions - people will judge you on the way you look. If you wear your pants around your ass and your shirt three sized too large and your sneakers without laces you're going to get judged on it. Same as if you wear cowboy boots, faded jeans and a shirt with the Stars and Bars. Same as if you put a bunch of metal in your face/body. You do it because it is an outer expression of who you are on the inside and you've got every right. No one is saying you can't, no one is even saying you shouldn't. To echo you, I fully support people's rights to to whatever they wish to themselves. But don't act surprised when others draw conclusions from your self-expression - you were the one who chose to emblazon the characteristics on your person that others may find unpleasant. |

I feel bad for people who permanently disfigure themselves. You hear stories about people trying to get their acts together scraping up money for facial tattoo removal.
Justify it on any grounds you want, there's no fucking way I'd give someone looking like that a job in MY office. |

That's what we call "aberrant" behavior.
That dude in the first photo has low intelligence, but thinks he's pretty sharp. Mentally, not via his appliances and has dreamt up all sorts of rationalized excuses for his choices. Down deep he probably hates himself. On the one hand, I want to take pity. On t'other, I wouldn't give him a second of consideration. |
