Question for all of the GSD owners. If you have ever owned an Akita, is the GSD similar to them as far as intelligence, family dogs, etc??? I had a GS when I was very young (Barely remember him), but he did save my life from my A**hole father once!!

I fostered these two little buggers 2 years ago.  Was very glad to see them go to very loving homes where they are members of families.

I could have uploaded a cool old SCH pic of him, but here he is about 3 mins ago sleeping.  He's almost 13 so he can do what ever the fuck he wants.

I can not wait to get a GSD! My wife and I just started looking for/at breeders. I'm going to be extremely picky, but I've waited for years to be in a situation that would allow us to provide for a GSD. Thanks for the pictures!

Wow op that's a good looking pack.
Do they all get along voluntarily?

Damn! What does your grocery bill look like every week, OP?

Great lookin' dogs though.

The two GSDs in the middle of the first picture are the females.  Mom and daughter.  In the second pic is Remington the father of the daughter in the picture, Kai.

Intelligence level is beyond anything you can imagine when there is a pack of them.  You had damn well better keep them run all day or they will show you what boredom can do to their minds... and your house...

I never lock the doors here... just a prayer every night I go to sleep that God may take pity on the poor SOB that decides to disturb the sanctity of my dogs home.  I will have to clean it up in the morning and I hate cleaning.

Kind of. They are both smart but the akita breed is a little more head strong and independent.

My oldest 2 males are getting up there but I don't want to ever think about that until it happens.  But this is how I ended up with 6.  I never intended it this way.  I took Whynnie on after her owners (I knew them well) could no longer keep her... I was planning on breeding her with my male Remington, before this happened.  Did it anyway after adopting her, planning to keep 1 male as I had originally wanted just to keep the bloodline going and my wallet from shelling out another 3-4k$.  Some where along the way, Kai, stole my heart.  She follows me everywhere, but quickly runs off to play yet,  and has never been more than 4 hours of time apart from me.  They all get a long surprisingly well.  The pups are busy playing and mom spends time with them.  The older males just hang out in my barn in the back yard next to the wood burner.  Kahn stays beside me where ever I go.  Never makes much noise except for 1 or 2 specific instances where I have gotten him riled up and he wants his reward.

Whynnie (I call her weenie and it pisses her off) and her puppies at 2 or 3 days.

Myself and my buddy Kahn.

Yes they all stay in my house.  No they do not destroy it.  Yes, hair is a constant battle.  You can brush all you want... they just laugh, shake, and more comes out... Dyson.

Any story on what happened here?  I have a feeling those 2 pups gave more than most mortal men.

This guy startled the heck out of me when I walked by on my way to Starbucks.  I bladed. And then took a picture

BTW, he never looked at me, I realized later he was watching his human in the store in front of us, who was probably cracking up at my little freak-out.
