I started back in the fall for an Information Technology program at the local community college. I'm focusing on getting Cert's and then going from there.

I've reached the second semester and I'm starting to lose interest. I sort of understand the concept but I'm just struggling right now.

I've always enjoyed technology but this is totally different.

If you can find an area you like, it's worth it.  Otherwise, you won't be happy and you will be making too much to quit.

I can understand that. It makes it tough that I come from a family background where nobody went to college or any tech school. Most of my Family just works for a living and they are happy with that.

I can only take so many classes with my Job that most will graduate a few years before I will. I by all means will not give up...

It would help to want to do IT for a particular industry or in a particular area.  You will want to specialize, if only down to networking vs. sysadmin vs. DBA work and so on.
