Looking to build my first. Already have an HBAR that I used for DCM matches, like the platform.
I want a shorter one, but I realized last week at the fun shop that my eyes can't focus down on the front sight with a 16" barrel. 20", GTG. So I'm looking at a lightweight flat top build, with optics. And I'm thinking about suppressing it sometime in the next couple of years when I'm in a freer state. So, the question is, how much change in POI am I likely to see with a pencil barrel and a can vs. an M4 profile with a can? And I know harmonics and other things come into play, and every barrel is an entity unto itself, but I'm asking about probabilities and trends here. |

Nothing wrong with that vision - there are LOTS of people in that boat when it comes to front sight focus. As to POI shift, every can and barrel are different. With my can, I had almost the exact same POI shift on a 12", 16", and 20" barrel.... you are gonna have to shoot it to know. |

First do something about your vision. Then get a 16" pencil barrel. You won't see any impact shift form the barrel compared to what the can brings. Yeah, thanks. I turn 54 in a couple of months, and they're just not what they used to be. Ok, that actually was helpful, and what I suspected. |
