That's not the free government approved site.  That is the we will pretend to be free but charge you site.

The real free site is.

freecreditreport is NOT the source of free annual reports you are asking about.  The one you have above is the one you want.

Realize you'll pay extra to see your score.

You can sign up for one of the free trials for a credit monitoring thing and cancel it if you want to see your score.

Thanks guys.

I thought the annualcreditreport.com was the correct one.
Should I get all 3 now or just pull one?

As noted above, Freecreditreport.com is a scam.

Go to Annualcreditreport.com.  You are entitled to one free report per reporting agency per year.  They will show you what is on your credit report, but will not give you the score.  If you want the score, you can pay an additional amount for a few bucks.

I use this service.  It's good.

MAy as well check out all three, especially if you've never looked before.  Print out a copy of each, if you want to do so...

Pull all three.  Many places only report to one Bureau.  CitiGroup does this to me.  My card only reports to TransUnion.

If you really want to get a handle on your credit information, PrivacyGuard.com is a great service I use.  It allows a monthly pulling of reports with approximate scores for all three Bureaus.  They also file disputes and such for you.  it costs $12/month.  The cool part is a graph that shows your past scores from each time you checked.  I have 2 years of scores in my graph and it really is the best way to learn how different actions affect your credit.  The dispute service allowed me to correct small errors that were creating large discrepancies in my scores, as well as other data that was inaccurate.

Be careful. The big three will scam your ass into monthly payments also.  It will be an extremely well hidden check box somewhere on the site that will sign you up for updates.

I hit up the annual one up a couple times a year, do 1 in january, around may and the 3rd agency late summer.

Helps keep an eye on things through out the year.

Thanks guys. I wanted to check something. I pulled two of them and they had the same thing. I'll pull the 3rd later in the year

I got a collection agency call saying I owe AT&T for a bill back from 2004
I have AT&T now and my phone is in good standing. I wanted to check to make sure it wasn't showing on my report. I don't remember seeing it there last year either when I looked.

Lady tried to get an attitude and said I had to pay today.  I laughed and told her I'm not paying anything until you send me something in writing. I'm going to dispute it also S.O.L in TN is 6 yrs. It hasn't shown up on any reports. It better not show up either.

It's only for $135 or something like that she said. It's just the priniciple

Which site is best to check your FICO and then cancel their service
