1st LT. LYNN TERRY COMMANDED 2nd PLATOON, BRAVO COMPANY, 3rd ANTITANK BATTALION FROM EARLY JULY OF 1963 WHEN IT WAS BASED IN HAWAII, THROUGHOUT ITS DEPLOYMENT TO OKINAWA AND DURING ITS SUBSQUENT LANDING ON MAY 7, 1965 AT CHU LAI, RVN; FINALLY RELINQUISHING HIS COMMAND IN LATE JULY OF THE SAME YEAR. WHAT FOLLOWS PRETTY WELL TELLS THE STORY OF LYNN'S PLATOON.

Very cool OP  Years ago I read about their use by the Marines at Hue. One of their TTP's was to "hide" an Ontos around a corner on a street that had RPG shooters on it and then have a '48 blast down the street shooting at anything that shot back. The tank would then turn off on a side street and if it had received fire the Ontos came out of it's hide and gave the position 6 rounds of HE. I guess it worked pretty good  |
