Just got finished with the remodel, but I've hit a snag.  My queen size box frame wont fit through the stairway.   After looking around I have two options.  Pay about 200 for a queen split box,  or I can pay $100-160 for a platform set up.  I need to know the real deal on these and if anyone has any experience with them.  I remember the roll-a-way bed that I slept on at Grandmas when I was little,  but that is the last experience I have with a combined metal frame and box spring.

My mattress is pretty comfy and I just picked up a memory foam topper, so I am not too worried about feeling like I am sleeping on the floor.  What does concern me is how well it will hold up.   Now keep in mind I am not the average internet postwhore and I don't weigh half a metric ton,  However I do have overnight guests a few nights a week; so it needs to be able to withstand the vigorous activities of me(160lbs), a lithe lady(<140lbs) and on rare occasions a blond toy(<130lbs).  It is paramount that the metal frame, the welds, and all the connecting joints stay together, as well as keeping both parts of the frame together, and keeping the mattress in place.  Because the only time I want to start on the bed and finish on the floor is when I pick her up and move her there,  I don't want my bedframe dictating that we need to be at a lower level.

And so I am turning to GD for advice, because from my browsing I have leaned that you are all 200lbs of man muscle that fuck at least 3 models a night.

Gonna need pics of woman and/or realdoll for informed input.

I don't have pics of any of the ones in the current rotation. What photos I do have are not safe for GD, and about half of the guys here would bitch about them having too many tattoos and piercings, or would tell me to feed them a sandwich  .

It sounds like you are man enough to break welds. You probably want to go with a one piece forged platform. And a real, over a thousand posts Arfcomer, knows how to widen a stairway.

Xylo,  you are entirely unhelpful.

I am attempting to be lazy an cheap.  I want you guys to do the research for me to justify me not spending a penny more than I have too and not having to fire up a welder and build the  damn thing myself.
