So I want to try a new kind of tequila. My prefered method is to shoot it straight with a bite of lime at the end. I usually drink Patron Anejo. What do you recommend?

Lot's of choices, though if you are shooting it, it doesn't really matter. I like it over ice with a squeeze of lime, it slows the experience a bit. I tend to prefer reposado and silver tequilas as well. Herradura, Milagro, Corralejo, and Republic of Texas have all been consumed in the past six months with great enjoyment. Either way, cheers!

Quoted: HELL YA...straight cactus juice, its the way I roll....It amazes everytime I go to the booze store at all the new kinds of it that are now available. I do like patron.. I had vapor lock on Friday trying to decide. I ended up going with a Cazadores Reposado gift set for my client. |
Cuervo Reserva de la Familia
This is like the XO cognac of Tequila. About $100 to $130 per bottle depending on where you find it. Worth every peso. |

As long as you have 100% agave you should be fine with any of them. I do like Patron Silver myself. Skip the lime and salt. It WAS 100% Agave when it crossed the border. Just because it says 100% on the bottle doesn't mean what's inside is 100% Agave Tequila. Many come across in bulk at 100% in order to receive the mark but once imported they are diluted. There are a few legit 100% Agave Tequilas but you'll have to do your homework to find out. Some of the big names spend their money on advertising, not the quality of their product. |

I'm really liking El Jimador for my margaritas. Made by Herradura at a less expensive price.

I never could get that stinking crap close enough to my mouth to drink any. Only smelled Cuervo Gold, huh? Why would you drink distilled Mexican sewer water, anyway? I found Maestro Dobel at one of my local liquor stores. It is my go to tequila. I move around between stuff like Don Julio reposado, Cabo reposado, an occasional Patron Anejo and a couple of others. While I can't regularly get the "ultra premium" stuff, I've had Gran Patron and Don Julio Real. |

Fuck Patron...fucking shampoo peddler (John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell) sent a guy down to Mexico to find the best tequila he could so he could make his "own". They found Don Julio and copied it (down to the fucking bottle...). Don Julio for sipping...El Jimador for mixing. Jose is swill.... |

Partida Blanca. Hmm, almost bought some last trip. |

I dislike Patron, and I don't remotely thing of myself as a connoisseur.
For cigars, I sip this, Tequila Ocho, damn smooth with some bite. |
