I don't like the taste of toothpaste. Any toothpaste. But I've always used it.

Isn't the whole point of brushing and flossing to get the remaining food particles away from your teeth?

Why do we need to scrub our teeth with hydrated silica, glycerin, sorbitol, sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol etc. etc.

4 posts in, and I'm not sure if anyone is serious.

ETA: The propylene glycol is only necessary if you're a pilot so your teeth don't ice over at high altitudes.

I think toothpaste helps from tearing the shit out of your gums...
Plus the fluoride additive.

ETA: I use the Jason cinnamon orange toothpaste and have been happy with it.  It doesn't contain chemicals like other generic brands.

Yeah I prefer the NATURAL human breath that God gave us  That wonderful camel breath smell of rotting gums.  Damn, bring back the good old days

In reality man....try some TOMS toothpaste.  Comes in LicoreISH (sp).  And a bunch of others.  Tooth powder is an option.  Lemon and baking soda(have fun)  Or check with the brass cleaning and polishing guys.....LemeShine with a splash of Dawn.

Crest makes some orange flavored shit which is pretty good. They also have lemon and cinnamon. There's always that blue kids' stuff too that tastes like bubblegum.

I'm in the same boat as far as the taste goes. But, ya know...

I use a Braun Oral B $100 electric toothbrush and use Colgate whitening toothpaste.  3 times a day.  Necessary?  No.  Sure does feel nice to have solid teef and good gums.

Grandma brushed, twice a day, with soda and salt. She died with all of her teeth and had hardly any cavities at the age of 89. fwiw.

In a survival situation you can grind/smash fully burnt charcoal into a powder and brush your teeth with that.  Its not going to win you any beauty awards, but it does the job.

Sure, don't use toothpaste. You don't really need your teeth anyway now that we have blenders.

Only brush the teeth you want to keep.

Toothpaste is not necessary.

Neither is soap. Scrubbing with sand works just fine, as long as the water is good and cold.
