Were they intended to appeal to black people or did it just kind of happen that way?
I am not saying that they only appeal to black people, but I know a few black guys and they get pretty excited about "the baby bentleys" It seems that they are being specificaly marketed to black people now, I have seen commercial that showed a black guy who "made it" driving his 300 back to his old hood and showing his mom, who was very proud of him and he was very proud of his car. And I saw one that had a 1970's style, it had a funk beat and was very big city and hood oriented, looked kind of like "good times" or "the jeffersons" or something. |

I don't think it was intentional at first, but when they saw that blacks were the main buyers of the cars, they naturally adjusted their ads to target them. Makes sense to me. This was my first idea...but I wonder. If a car company was smart they would make a car that appeals to 13% of the population. Especialy considering that they follow trends as a cultural group (Cristal, hennessy, Obama, fubu, doo rags, jordans, ect ect ect) if you can make it hip and popular as a status symbol it will propogate through the community. Maybe there is a black engineer or designer at chrysler, who was asked "what would YOU like to see in a car" |

I know why they like them, they are big and have shiny stuff all over them. I am just wondering if it was intentional or if chrysler just got lucky. They were designed by a black guy actually Ok, so I was correct. Not the first time and won't be the last. |

I think it's one of the best looking sedans on the market , but I'm pretty fly for a white guy Me too, except for the being fly part.
I know a white guy that loves his 300 with the Hemi and AWD it goes better in the snow and ice than his Dodge 3500 Cummins. I wouldnt doubt hes used it to pull that damn truck out of the ditch once or twice. |

Had a nice conversation with a GM vice president at the MLK Memorial dedication ceremony gala. He said (off the record) that negroes buy the shit out of the Escalade line. Did he actualy say "negros"? The blacks have always loved the navigators and 'slades...but they are pretty expensive. I bet a 300 does not last very long at a "buy here pay here..bad credit? No Credit? NO PROBLEM!" car lot. |

I think it is just a matter of whatever is or can be made to look gaudy. If you have ever read some animal behavior, you will notice that supposedly raccoons are naturally attracted to bright shiny things. That’s just the way coons are. The concept of “bling” is likely related. |

I'd drive a 300, I think they're pretty nice cars. I got one as a rental a year or two after they came out, and it was everything I'd need in a sedan, and I'm white as the freshly fallen snow. I'd really rather have a Magnum R/T in black. Darth Vader's station wagon. |

There were quite a few negroes there as one could imagine. And lots of White people sucking up to them, like the chairman of GM. |

And most chargers, challengers, mustangs, and cameros are usually the v6 one too. |

In that culture it's all about appearances and how much money you spent, or how much money it looks like you spent. Isn't that the same culture that pervades ARF when it comes to our rifles?
People are the same the world over ... whether your logo fetish is Chrysler, FUBU or Magpul, it's all the same .... |
