Here is a pic of a project I'm working on for my son's birthday.  We love fishing at a local lake and always talk about needing a bucket to carry some of our gear. So I'm surprising him for his birthday with his very own custom fishing bucket.  The rod holders have quick detach clevis pins so they can be removed for storage and transportation.  I still have to finish the paint job (will be camo) and add the seat cushion to the lid. The cushion will be covered in the waterproof camo material that is sitting on top in the pic.

So far I have about 7 hours in to the fabrication. Took a while to get the brackets cut, welded, drilled and put together.

I'll update this thread with new pics as it progresses.

Sorry for the blurry cell pic

Good idea, and beautiful execution!

One too-late suggestion, but might help for future endeavors, they sell buckets with a swivel seat for deer hunting.  They have a nice swivel padded seat and are already camo'd.

Damn sure beats propping up your poles with a stick and sitting on a rock!
Nice present OP, I'm sure your son will appreciate it.

I always show up with a bucket. I have a little half moon cut out of the front of the seat. I can throw the fish in there without getting up. You will enjoy bucket fishing.
