I think they suck. They were the first NuMetal band and I hate them because their singer sounds like a whinny, emo version of Kurt Cobain who went slightly metal rather than shitty punk.

Fuck TOOL, they suck ass.
12/12/2011 3:26:02 PM EDT
[#1]
Well, thats just like your opinion....
12/12/2011 3:26:33 PM EDT
[#2]
I like them. I don't think nu-metal when I think of them. Neither do I think 'pure' metal.

12/12/2011 3:27:03 PM EDT
[#3]
That's nice.

I enjoy their song stylings, but to each their own.
12/12/2011 3:27:32 PM EDT
[#4]
Me too.....
12/12/2011 3:27:41 PM EDT
[#5]
Cool.

[#6]
this thread is going nowhere. it must be a joke
12/12/2011 3:27:54 PM EDT
[#7]
I liked them at first but then got tired of their drive to be the biggest freaks and have the weirdest lyrics.  It seemed like it wasnt about music anymore just how crazy they can be.

They have a very good drummer and bass guitar player. Otherwise....
12/12/2011 3:27:57 PM EDT
[#8]
Methinks you don't know what Nu-Metal is.
12/12/2011 3:28:04 PM EDT
[#9]
I really enjoy tool and a perfect circle.  Maynard is big into shooting.  Have heard its speculated he is a member here.
12/12/2011 3:28:11 PM EDT
[#10]
yep... ilike em'

and they are great in concert too
12/12/2011 3:28:15 PM EDT
[#11]
Each to their own, personally I like Tool a lot and think musically speaking they are better than Nirvana ever was.

But that's just me.
12/12/2011 3:29:04 PM EDT
[#12]
I love Tool.

Maynards side projects are fuckin' weird.
12/12/2011 3:29:19 PM EDT
[#13]
So who would be your band of choice then?
12/12/2011 3:29:21 PM EDT
[#14]
Tool <> Nu-Metal.

12/12/2011 3:29:27 PM EDT
[#15]
I am not a huge fan of TOOL, but their drummer is 100% badass.
12/12/2011 3:29:55 PM EDT
[#16]
I've always liked them, they aren't for everyone though.

12/12/2011 3:30:28 PM EDT

Does this also mean you hate A Perfect Circle?
12/12/2011 3:30:43 PM EDT
[#21]
I like Tool and A Perfect Circle

Pretty close, just multiply your guess by two and you'll be right on the nose.

There are many things I don't like. I don't feel the need to start a thread about it

BTW, Tool kicks ass

Cant wait for the new album next year (hopefully).

This thread is now about why tool rocks.

Megadeth...or Slayer. Anthrax too. Lately it's been Anthrax, since I really like their new album.

I very much like Tool and A Perfect Circle, however I can't forgive Emotive being an hippie epic-fail of the highest order.

42 years from now, at the age of 36, I will build a time machine so that I can go back in time to influence the past by posting on AR15.com in hopes of directing opinions prior to what we refer to as The Event.

Yeah, well I hate Kurt Cobain.

His music was decent, but it's only still played before he blew off his own head.

What a surprise.  Motown changes his avatar and puts up a series of threads/posts that go directly against the grain of most members of the site.    Weird how that works.

Tool is even better in concert I've heard.

Often, I derive meaning for my life through my love of labor, but not the labor that makes me. I like doing things differently than others and with better reasons and results to back me up. I also understand that the people 'on top' got there through competence, success, attrition, or cutting throats. I, in turn, make sure I'm playing a better game - tweaking plans, reorganizing, etc. all the time.

Going Galts rubs me the wrong way in all areas. Yes, things suck, but play a better game. Do what GE has done - hire every grade A accountant and lawyer and plan a better fight, not fight a better fight. Giving up doing what I like? I run my own path, people can try to change the world around me (and they succeed), but it doesn't change me. John Galt let people change him first, that's where he went wrong. In the story, it might seem the world FORCED him in some predicament, but in the end, it was his life to own up to or run away with.

He didn't cut out his own special version of heaven in his world where he was still the same man, doing the same thing he wanted to do. Portraying yourself as a refugee is pathetic.
