Not the Texas porch honkey -the whiskey. I tried it for the first time this week, because of the attractive price ($10.99). It's a pretty decent bourbon. Tastes a lot like Jim Beam, but for ~1/3 the price. Good buy. |

Good for a good quick drunk. The next day hangover is the best way to determine quality.
If you feel a little off after a 5th the next day, good stuff. If you want to die the next day, bad stuff. I usually feel like shit with anything less than12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch. |
| I was drinking Canadian Club for years before the last price increase. Traded to Evan Williams and was satisfied. Last month an out of state tourist bought all the Evan Williams in the store before returning north. I needed a bottle for the weekend so I tried Ezra Books. 90 Proof and and two dollars cheaper. I like it better. Very smooth and two dollars cheaper. Give it a try, you just mike like it. |

It is certainly the best of the "black label" Whiskeys. Their single cask reserve is absolute tits for under 30$/fifth. The 1792 (gold cap, black label) 10year old stuff is great too if you can find it... I have to go out of state to locate any. WOW!!! Under $30 fer fifth?!!!! Yer gonna hate me, but 1792 Evan costs................. ..................wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!........................ ................. Less than $20.00 per HALF-GALLON here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait, OH has those State Owned liquor stores, don't it? Still, why should that matter? |

Quoted: Quoted: No! Just...no......no... ...no.... ![]() When's the last time you had some EW on the rocks? You know, it has been a damn long time. I'm a Blanton's/Woodford Reserve guy, always on the rocks, but I'll occasionally go for a Maker's or a Jamesons depending on where I am, what's available. I found EW to be fairly one-dimensional, but what the hell, I'll give it another try! |

The single cask and 1792 are two different products... Single cask is about 26$/fifth here in OH. 1792 isn't sold in OH, but I get it in KY for about 14/fifth. Both are good, the single cask is one of the most underrated Whiskeys out there IMHO. |

For $12, the worst that can happen is you pour some B&C for some guests sometime if you find it completely undrinkable. My favorite is Bulliet, but EW is not bad at all. Just stay away from Old Crow, even the Reserve variety. I know, Old Crow Reserve is an oxymoron, but I was moron enough to buy it once. |

With ice and water, it's great. If your drinking neat, or on the rocks, then You have to go single barrel. Woodford, or Russell etc. Evan Williams has a nice single barrel for about $26.00. Ok, I was about to question the $10.99. I bought some EW that I wasn't fond of and it was expensive. I have a Maker's in hand but only bc I am out of Woodford. |
