Lately, I taunt him with the laser on my 1911. He goes after it like a cat.
It's an apartment so there is no "outside." He's crated and trained for the most part. He just wigs out when he's left alone too long. I'm almost ashamed to say that if he was my dog, he might have gotten roughed up a little after coming home and finding this. I don't want to be like that anymore. Strange thing is he didn't even get into the trash where we've thrown away food! Go figure. My last dog would raid the trash like it was nobody's business. |

Shit, if I left food in the can, my last dog would hit hit it like it was his fuckin job. |

Its called separation anxiety. Some of the web vet channels have info on how to work with a dog that has it. Cute dog. Rescues sometimes need some work but they are usually worth it. You know after the first incident, my roommate mentioned that as a possible culprit for his behavior. I'll be sure to check out these YouTube videos! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I can't help but reply to this thread.
Back in the 70's when I was in Jr. High we had a toy poodle named "Coco"........ Our family would go to church and he'd get into the bathroom trash and drag out all the used Kotex pads that had been wrapped up there. He was not fixed, and I guess that smell delighted him or something.
We would come home to find the used Kotex in the dining room, in the living room, kitchen too. Talk about humiliation. |

Dogs generally don't really mind being left in their crates for reasonable time peroids and it isn't at all bad for them Teach them to love the crate, and they will lay there to sleep instead of on the couch. this pup needs to be in a crate when you leave the house. He needs to sleep in a crate at night too. |

from the other "Small dog, destroyer of your stuff" thread going on this morning:

In all fairness, especially for smaller dogs, crate them if you're going to be gone for an extended period of time. It's to A) protect your stuff, B) protect the dog (which I guess is your stuff too). It's not cruel or lazy, just smart and responsible. |
