I ordered two items, magazine clamp and stainless magazine follower, for my 870.  Ordered on 10.21 for approx 95 dollars.  Not much.  I received an order confirm that same day.  Not until today did I have the money taken out of my account and notified the order was shipped.  I replied to the notification as such...

Hello,

I have but two questions.   Why, when the order was made two weeks ago, am I only now being charged for this purchase?  Secondly, which is closely related to the first, for what good reason does an order take two weeks to ship?  Companies which have far greater demand and volume moving through them have little problem processing such a minute amount of product and seeing that their customers are not made to wait on their poor performance as it pertains to financial responsibility.

I know these questions may seem as angry rhetoric, but I do actually expect a response.  I trust that it will not take another two weeks.  I apologize in contacting you in such a manner, but it is not undeserving.

My only question to GD is, am I being a complete D-Bag in my demeanor or response in such poor performance?  I really just don't see how its feasable for a company to be as irresponsible as this.  Your thoughts, and as always, feel free to weigh in GD.

Would you have preferred they charged your card when you ordered and then waited 2 weeks to ship?  A lot of companies sell things when they do not have enough in stock to cover the anticipated orders.  But they usually have standing agreements with their suppliers to get the excess shipped within a set time frame or penalties will be imposed on the supplier............

Many merchant account agreements state that a business should not charge until the product is shipped. As to why it took them 2 weeks, who knows.

Good guess on the sales volume and size of the work force, too.

How do you know the volume of the companie's sales?

I've had alot of companies not charge me until the item is shipped. I don't really like it that, i'd much prefer to have the money taken out of my account when i place the order while i know i hve the money, but thats just the way they do it. As for why it took two weeks, i'm not sure, maybe the item was back-ordered.

ETA: beat me to it

My guess is that your items were dropped shipped from another company because whoever you ordered from did not have it in inventory.

Truth be told, I would actually like for the money to be claimed from my account and then wait two weeks for the items to be shipped.  As a courtesy for those who owe me payment, I do not wait long, especially not two weeks to cash a check, as it does constitute an inconsistency in budgeting.  I view it as a professional courtesy.  Also, if that is the case a notification, I believe, should be in order.  Communication between two persons/entities being key.

As far as knowing how much volume this company moves, I do not know.  I only compare to those companies which I know move more product.  Great companies like Primary Arms, AIM, Brownells etc.  I am aware that they have a greater staff amount, but they have such a workforce to compensate for greater volume.  But again, all assumptions based on my little knowledge of this company prior to my having ordered from them.

I am aware I may have been a dick, and my expectations a bit high.  Two weeks from order to following notification of said order still seems a bit wrong to me.

I ordered some parts on Monday from Bravo Company USA. They're sitting on my workbench right now.

It could be because the company doesn't want to have to book a liability from the time you pay to the time they ship the item.

Revenue recognition can't occur until performance is completed.

All good info guys.  Thank you.  I really don't know much from a business standpoint, just a consumer's end.  Oh, and wasn't Botach, I would imagine a lot of people were thinking this, or again, I assume.

Yep, and some states have laws about when the customer can be charged and after how much time they have to be offered a refund.

My vote is you are being too anal, leaning towards being a dick.
If you want instant gratifaction try masterbation.

As others have said, most CC companies can not by law charge you card until your order is actually shipped.

How fast or slow you want to make deposits of check you receive have no influence on the above.

Just relax and think about all the interst your money made sitting in your own account for those two weeks.
