Is BF3 single player a campaign driven, cut-scene monstrosity that BFBC2 was? I do not play online just SP, anti social that I am. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

BF has always been about the MP, not SP. When they've thrown together some SP campaign in most of the games that was little more than an ordered playlist of the levels with bots available.
This is, of course, discounting the made-for-console BFs, but they aren't good anyway. |

the game as a whole is pretty bad Go back to Modern Warfare then, we don't want you on the Battlefield. I love the game, but he's right. The AI is grade-A retard and they scale the difficulty by making them absurdly accurate and fast-firing. On hard, you will spend the entire game staring at the backside of your cover. So much for the visuals, huh? The cutscenes aren't really a problem, except that the story is, at this point, so trite and cliche it's not even funny. BF3 is DICE saying, "Hey, MW2 was alright. Let's make that game! Oh, and let's throw in plenty of French shit while we're at it." This is 2011. Quit it with the quicktime events. It was novel when RE4 did it, and it's been downhill ever since (yes, I'm aware QT segments existed in other games before RE4). What happened to all the development money? It used to be that a multi-million-dollar game nearly dripped with relative quality to everything else on the market. There's a reason everyone loved the original Modern Warfare. Or Halo. And so on. I just don't get the feeling that the BF series has actually come very far in the past two years. Which isn't to say I'm complaining. It's still a fine game, and you should buy it and play it for the multiplayer. The multiplayer is more robust and offers a really good mix of action with a lot of teamwork opportunities. The story is just a nice add-on as a bonus. IMHO, BF3 is not worth $60+tax if you really just want the single player. |

COD2's single player is the standard by which all others are measured. Except no Bots, as I recall. It is a lot of fun maxing out the # of bots, making them just smart enough that I can do reasonably well and then getting a 25/1 kill/death ratio. Load up AIX2 mod for BF2, bring up the small Static map and get out the grenade launcher . . . the Chinese have a small area and they tend to cluster before moving out, I have gotten 100+ kills off that map in one sitting. Riding a Little Bird around with the bot skill set too low and it is like shooting fish in a barrel, set it too high and you become a pigeon in a whole group of hunters. Lots of fun.

Story lines do. that's what i thought it was going to be like......i hated the way campaign was set up but it was fun playing it...... I don't know why all of these multiplayer-based FPS don't include a game mode like that. Black Ops did but they made it to where you had to have an active XBox live account to play it. ![]() |
