I filed for an LLC through Legal zoom about a month ago it was effortless and I moved on.  I got a charge this weekend for $159.00 debited from my bank account, so I called this morning and they said i  was "automatically" signed up for Legal Zoom to be my authorized registrar for my LLC.  She explained to me in Texas the Secratary of State has to have this on file.

I really do not know what she was talking about can anyone help?  i want my $159 back.

An LLC has to have a registered agent on file. That is probably what they are talking about. You'll need to update the state to say that you are the registered agent.

Yes, you can be your own agent.

Next time save the $159, and fill out Form 205 yourself.

Did you pay the $300 filing fee?

You will probably also need an EIN.  Is Legal Zoom also going to get that for you?  You can do this yourself for free.

I got the EIN online and paid the $300 through legal zoom and they charged me $99.

No not at all.  I have wanted to get my FFL license for a long time.  I thought it would be best if i put it under an LLC.  Not sure what I am going to do with it, but just thought it might be something for the future.  Thanks for your help. Looks like I can fax a register name change with $15 to the Texas SOS and they will change it.
