I just watched it and was wondering when the 2nd black hawk crashses (I think) and all the somalis are trying to overrun it why didn't the other chopper just take out the whole crowd with the mini guns? Wouldn't that have slowed them down enough for the pilots to take out the reminder of the skinnys?

That's probably just the difference between what really happened and how they depicted it on the movie. They were trying to stay technically accurate (somewhat anyway) as far as how many went down and engaged the crowd perhaps.
