Picked up The Strangers unrated edition on Bluray at Walmart today for $8. 
One of the better horror movies in my opinion, true suspense..not just gore and bad acting like so many horror movies are now. You can't go wrong with a Bluray for $8.

I thought it sucked ass. The protagonists were even stupider than in most horror movies. They had a shotgun and still managed to get killed by 3 unarmed people. The only scary point in the whole movie was their answer to the to Liv Tyler's question "Why are you doing this to us?" |

That is my recollection as well, very loosely based on real events. I remember looking into shortly after the movie was released. It's not bad and I appreciated it for the fact that afterwords my wife took steps to be a little more cautious with regard to home security. |
