I'm drinking a hopped up red rye I made 2 months ago. Awesomeness in a glass

As nationally distributed fall beers go, Sierra Nevada Tumbler has my vote. I just discovered that one this year. Pretty good. Their summer stuff was incredible as well. I think they overall have surpassed New Belgium as my go-to large-scale beer. |

Snobbery implies that you look down on someone else for their choice. Or, for that matter, that you even care what other people drink at all. I'm a beer geek. There's a difference. And there's also a difference between just saying, "That beer sucks." and pointing out what you perceive to be an identifiable and quantifiable flaw. I've personally been disappointed in a lot of SA products since they started contracting out a lot of their brewing a few years back. I think quality control headed downhill a bit. It's still good, and it's still beer, but I don't think it's as good as it once was. Say, in about 2006, 2007. I do love a liter or two of festbier, though. I didn't have any time to make a batch this year, but next weekend we'll be tapping a pumpkin ale we made about 7 weeks ago. |

Go get some Coastal Wheat and report back.  To each his own. Personally, I think any and all IPAs, even the Sam Adams version, are absolutely disgusting. Other than that, there isn't a Sam I don't love. |

OK, the particular combination of malts they use causes the beer to have an unmistakable quality reminiscent of beef, possibly aged beef, with a hint of pork.

It's just that I lost any real interest in looking for their stuff after I found the Sierra Nevada stuff. There are too many smaller breweries stuff to try to worry about stocking too many mainstream brands - and my fridge/frige is only so big. |
