The thread about "Fudds" got me thinking about this.

Hog and predator.

Yes, I used hunting as an excuse to build and AR-10T.   It shoots great but its a little heavy.  I'm tempted to get a SCAR in .308 and try that instead.

I hunt the most dangerous game.

Boogers.

Hogs. It's the most fun I've had hunting in, well, ever!

I got my wife into hunting so hopefully we can get enough deer this year to keep the freezer full until next season.

I hate running out of deer meat

Same here. As a teenager I hunted pheasant, squirrel, and rabbit. Now days just don't have an interest.

No...

Been once on a hog hunt with my cousin once. It was fun other than the 6 hour drive, the 2 hours of sleep, and the getting up as the ass crack of dawn.

Guess I am a pussy. I just never really wanted to. Except for hogs...I actually want to hunt hogs and God help em if those fuckers ever step on the property

No, because I can afford to pay other people to gather my food for me, and package it nicely.

You don't actually have to kill an animal if you don't want to.  It can be great just to go out into the woods and see them.

I had a small doe and her little fawn buck hang around under my stand for 15 minutes on Saturday sniffing the air trying to figure out what was wrong.  It was heavenly.

I haven't in a couple of years. I'm just a social hunter (you can hear beekeeper spitting in disgust in the background). I go out with the guys in the fall for fun. Unfortunately most of the hunting around here has switched to stand hunting, which I kind of get bored with, I liked the old fart hunting of standing watch and doing drives a lot more, even if it wasn't as productive.

I usually get deer in my yard almost every day.

This morning there were six of them.

I have seen more deer in my yard since I moved to the suburbs than I ever saw in the woods hunting.

And rabbits, we are one of the few houses without a dog so the rabbits hang around on my yard. Cute little dickens even if they do chew on my garage door.

Deer, turkey, quail, grouse, pheasant.

Bird hunting is more about walking with a dog though.

The reason no one ever takes you is that hunting IS a sport.  Not too many subsistence hunters are going to show you where and how they get their only source of food.

It would be impossible to explain to you the feeling I'm talking about, so I'm not even going to attempt.  I know others know what I'm talking about.

I happened to see six deer total on Saturday as well.  One was a decent buck, but he was wiley and knew I was up in the tree so he avoided getting close enough to stick with an arrow.

You should see my yard.  I've hung so much chicken wire around the bushes the place looks like Stalag 13.

I had a dual purpose getting into hunting.   I thought it would be a great addition to my skills, to be able to feed my family if needed.   The other is my in laws are into hunting big time so they like that I have gotten into it too.

Heres a couple of pics from my waterfowl hunt this last weekend. Was out for 4 days. The first day it was 2C, high wind and heavy rain. It got cold real fast

Set up a few decoys the next day after the rain

It was coming right at me..luckily I had a machete

It probably would be impossible to explain to me.  Deer are deer - they look the same whether they are sniffing the wind next to my garage, or out in mother nature.  I've been hunting.  Deer and turkey in the U.S., fox in Europe, and I find it boring.

If I want to see animals I don't normally see, I'll got to the zoo, and if I want to eat them I'll go to the local butcher (who has pheasant, boar, venison, etc.)

Nope, don't camp either...  Did both back in the day, it sucked!  Fishing was fine, but I did enough of that with the old man (his primary hobby) to officially say it's out of my system.

I prefer not living as my forefathers did.  Growing up in the country gave me an appreciation for not roughing it.

If you want to hunt, have at it though!  Bowhunting is quite a skill.  Driving deer with dogs into a firing line isn't.

FYI, guys who dare post graduate work in mathematics are not pussies either...

God I wish I could hunt hogs, we have a few in Southern Ohio and they are migrating my way

I also heard that once the hogs get into an area that they are real pests too, I am all for pest control

I hunt Predators, Crow, and the occasional rabbit, deer ans Waterfowl but 5 hip replacements have slowed me down a little
