I have the larger one, but a friend of mine just asked about the small one.
Does anyone know if a BCG will fit in the small one? Tnx |

Haven't looked at it personally, but small ultrasonics are usually extremely small, probably big enough to do the bolt itself, but nowhere near big enough to do the carrier. That's what I suspect, too. I just used mine for the first time today and I was impressed. I used Ed's Red (without the Acetone) and it worked slicker'n shit. I didn't try using the heater. |

Tell me more. Cheap ultrasonics? Usually $90. On sale for $75. With 20% off coupon, $60. One that can clean a bcg? ETA where and what model. I must have been living under a rock, as I thought the useful ones were hundreds of dollars. I think I'm under that rock too. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Got one at Aldi about 6 years ago. Used WD40 and it seems to work quite well, I'm sure Ed's Red is much faster though. Had a shitty 60 timer on it that I disabled. I think I spent around $20 if memory serves me right. ETA don't put anything aluminum in one, from what I heard, and this could be total bullshit, but they can fuck up aluminum. I play it safe and only put steel parts in it. |

Next time I'm home I'll put foil in. I'm really curious as to what will happen. Over the course of all these years I have about a 1/2 in of sediment at the bottom of mine. Oh and along with WD40 I also added seafoam about 2 years ago, seems to speed up the process. |

This one? http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/370x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_11949.jpg I use this one for small parts, and it works great. Distilled water and the powdered solution HF sells will not harm aluminum when the proper cleaning cycle is used. If you concoct your own solution and let it cook for half a day, yeah......you might have a problem. |
| Yes, A BCG will fit in the 2.5 liter ultrasonic cleaner. Same with a 1911 frame. Works great for cleaning eyewear. I generally start with warm water and 2 drops of blue dawn. If you want to clean brass, try crystal light lemonade- chock full of citric acid. Mike. |

Bulk aluminum is fine. |
