| I just got done watching this on IFC........I don't know if I loved it or hated it......WTF. Can someone explain what the hell that movie was about? |

I enjoyed it, even though it didn't go the way I expected. Obviously it was a very small budget film, but I thought they did well with what they had.

Can someone explain what the hell that movie was about? what I got from it, by sacrificing himself (the opposite of all he was and had learned) he saves the boy, the one pure and innocent thing he had known fullfilling his purpose in this life (reason for the visions and introduction of the christians/crusades). A simple story of the dichotomy of man set in a simplistic environment where the main struggle is life and death. |

that was indeed a bit of a strange flick. So many things not really fleshed out or explained. I could go with the sacraficing himself angle, but if so why would he have visions early on of him dying? I had to watch it twice. takes a great deal of "faith" to continue on a quest that may end in your death. |

Towards the end, when he turned to see the natives, I thought it was gonna be a bloody fight scene, would have been nice to see him go down fighting. it wasn't a rocky movie (ie popcorn movie). you folks need to think about why christianity was introduced, who else sacrificed himself? |

Yeah, I'm just a simpleton, I didn't understand any of that, I just nodded my head and smiled. |

Uh, he left the boy in a strange continent surrounded by the same savages who just beat him to death for the hell of it. Not exactly a "save" in my book. Also, just how was he captured in the first place if he was so Conan he couldn't lose??? Weird movie that was NOT the good 1.5 hrs I was expecting!!! |

I literally had to force myself to watch about an hour of it. Then I spent the rest of the day contemplating a full frontal lobotomy. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile So what did you decide on that? I decided to watch Blazing Saddles and found a new will to live. |

The warrior was Odin in the flesh. His death is symblomatic of the encroachment of Christianity. I kind of thought everyone knew that, since they couldn't have made it more obvious that he was supposed to be Odin. I guess I am stupid, maybe if he had had a big fancy spear or some ravens, or if it was titled "Ragnarok Rising" I might have figured out the obvious...... |

It would have been really clever if they had used Odin's primary physical attribute, being one-eyed, for the main character "One-Eye". |

I always pictured Valhalla as a Viking frat party on saturday night that just didn't stop (till the apocalypse of Ragnarok freezes the world), not getting your head bashed in by the Iroquois, but maybe that's just me....... |
