Together, we must harness the power of open societies and open economies. That is why we have partnered with countries from across the globe to launch a new partnership on Open Government that helps ensure accountability and empower their citizens. No country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere. And no country can realize its potential if half its population cannot reach theirs. This week, the United States signed a new Declaration on Women’s Participation. Next year, we should each announce the steps we are taking to break down economic and political barriers that stand in the way of women and girls. That is what our commitment to human progress demands.

This means Obama wants the gay vote and the female vote. Which is interesting... he's trying to promote freedom but keeps trying to take a fucking giant shit on our personal freedoms - like the Second Amendment. Or states rights vs federal rights. And female rights? Wait, wasn't there a recent report that the women working in Obama's staff feel marginalized by the men? Guess he's trying to cover up that fact by making a giant speech. Interesting really. You never heard anything about the women working for Bush having trouble like that. Hell in Bush's administration we had women like Condoleezza Rice who *obviously* had power. That's the difference really... Bush actually DID have females in power. Obama just makes speeches. |
