So I have a 4 year old PC. Still on XP.  Dell with 500g hard drive, etc. Runs fine, will give it to my mom probably.

Looking at the newest Apple desktops with like 27" monitors and super cool keyboards.

How tuff is it to get all my docs, email, and stuff from a PC to a Mac?

Anyone here have an opinion on this transition?

They have MSO for mac. I'd imagine the transition would be fairly painless.

The transition wasn't bad.  It was my wife's idea that I turn ghey.  I was resistant at first, but then I realized that it would make life that much easier admitting to my gheyness.  You should be ghey with me.  It's fun.

It's not too complicated or difficult, provided you don't have any applications that don't have Mac corollaries.  These are fairly rare, unless you game a lot.

If we're just talking about emails and such, as pointed out above, Microsoft Office 2011 is available for OSX, works very well (I use it every day), and you should be able to move all your data over with no issues.

He's referring to Microsoft Office.  I've never seen it called that either.

I purchased MS Office for Mac.  I have had NO issues with any of my word docs, excel files or power point presentations going from one platform to the other.

It just works.
