I agree to much shit going on around rear valance with square tips exhaust. I suppose it is intended to contrast with the front end that is much more circular? Overall not a bad recreation.. |
A-body superbird? ETA: I meen E body
FAIL I don't understand Mopar fans obsession with making everything but a "charger" a damn a Dayton or Superbird. Quit perverting the most ridiculously awesome thing MOPAR produced ETA: this is the "Tapco Fuck" of the automotive world, no matter how many fake scoops you stick on with 3M VHB you're not going to make a Superbird, I award you no points and may the MOPAR gods have mercy on your soul |

The current production ones are LX platform. I'm the biggest Mopar nut you'll find, and that thing in the op is fucking hideous. What an abomination. |

The retro thing was OK with the new Camaros and Challengers.
This piece of dreck shows that the trend has jumped the shark. An original Superbird? Oh yeah. This thing is an expensive version of those stick-on Buick fake ports "those people" are sticking on their fenders. |

Doesn't have the look of the original but it would leave the original in the dust in every other category.....With the A/C on. Not the 200+mph capable NASCAR models. Yeah, those were SOOOOOO "legal" on the road even then. Let NASCAR dump all the "slow down" crap stuck on cars today, let them use modern methods to make HP and watch that original Superbird look like a chicken fading in your rear view mirror. I LOVE the old SB, it really was original and if I found a bard find one I could afford [HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!] I'd pull my 401K to buy it but that era's popularity was more hype then fact when it came to "fast" cars. The brakes sucked, the handling sucked, the tires sucked, the engines didn't last long in tune unless you worked on them all the time. They really were not as fast as most people think they were and if they were quick, they had a top end a Buick with a 3.8 could beat.
Buick Grand National/GNX, THAT was a sleeper supercar for it's time. I did love all the games with "factory" cars that manufacturers did back then to get them OK'ed to race, that era was famous for every trick it could think up to cut weight and make HP and excite the guys in the GP. |
