Problem––- I took a quick video to show what the problem is. As you can see,  the screen now has a yellow tint over the entire screen. There appears to be vertical yellow lines spaced a few milimeters apart which gives the overall yellow look. All the other colors appear to be showing up underneath the yellow.

It's a Sony VAIO laptop.
I can't embed the video since I'm on my phone.

What may have caused this - At 5:30 I splashed a ounce or two of water on the screen and keyboard area. Thankfully I have a keyboard cover on so no water should have got in the key area.
After the spill I immediately turned the laptop upside down (to try and stop water from coming in elseware),  took off the key cover, then dried the monitor/body off.

The laptop was on the entire time and I didn't turn it off after (probably dumb, but I was slightly panicked) since it seemed no water got in.

Well now an hour later at 6:30 while I was watching TV online the screen did the above yellow thing. I immediately tried to restart it and it still was yellow so I powered off, pulled the battery and it has been sitting for 30+ mins.

While rebooting I plugged the HDMI output from the laptop to my TV and the picture was normal.

Any suggestions on what to do?  Does it for sure relate to the water, Or just a freak coincidence?

ah one more thing, When looking at it from low angles the yellow is really intensified. When looking from upwards the yellow is almost gone but the display looks crappy, like half of the pixels are missing.

Here's the fix.

Probably the cable between the motherboard and the LCD.

Sometimes re-seating will fix it.

Hit it with a high rate of chelated iron and some nitrogen.  Should bring it back.

+1.  This connection should be under the keyboard, read your manual on how to remove the keyboard... should be simple.  Maybe try cleaning the connection with rubbing alcohol while you're in there.

Sorry Sandy your laptop has the yellow fever.
And the only cure is more cow bell!

I don't know enough about  laptops to be of any help.

Can you zoom in a little closer?

I almost made out a discernible shape in that vid.

Hum maybe I'll try ripping it apart and locating the video strip/cable.

Or smash it with my face.
