My son is DCC on a C130 and he is preparing to deploy shortly.
It's not to Iraq or Afganistan and he can't say or don't know where they are going. So Im thinking it must be a humanatarian mission to Africa. Or is something going on that I haven't noticed. What say the Hive. |

Option 2 - Hes getting kicked out or going awol and doesnt know how to tell you. Option 3 - Hes doing something HSLD, but if that were true I assume you would have said "My son is the HSLD type" and he would have given you some basic opsec stuff about not posting it on the net. Quoted: WTF is DCC? Dedicated Crew Chief - assigned as the primary crew chief on one aircraft, goes TDY with/ deploys with that aircraft, etc... continuity in maintenance and pride/ ownership. Don't know if they still run it this way, but that's the way it was done when I was a crew chief. |

If he sticks it out for 20 you'll make yourself sick. I spent almost my entire 20 on C-130s, most of that on world-wide mobility status. I was gone. A lot. C-130's go all over the world. Some missions I could let family know where I was going. Others I couldn't due to opsec. Your son will tell you what he can, when he can. Herks - gotta love 'em.  |

DCC Dedicated Crew Chief
Im sure he knows too but he's ADSOC there more secretive and he won't say. I dont wanna push him. Im not worried about being OpSec because he hasn't said a word. I pay pretty close attention to whats going on in the world. And was just wondering if I missed something. |

I've got a pretty good idea, but I'm not saying either. and if he says he can't tell you it's for a reason I have many deployments that I can't say where I'm going - and I'm nothing special..... there's just some stuff that doesn't need to be discussed - he'll give you an address when he gets it and the mail will get to him.... |
