This is not what you think

Saturday afternoon I mailed a holster at my PO. This was after 3:00, the PO was closed so I put it in the after hours drop box. It was normal, 1st class mail. Monday, my buyer sent me a PM that he received the holster!
I thought that was PDQ
From PA to OH but, still.....

I usually have things shipped via USPS. $9.95 beats the piss out of what UPS charges for ground shipping up here.

Good to hear. The USPS gets bashed and complaint about but they do move something like a billion pieces of mail every other day. No one ever comes on to post great job delivering 3.4 billion letters this week!!

I've got a better one than that.

I bought a rifle over the web from an individual in Washington state.  He shipped it Friday, USPS, and it was at my FFL here in Texas Monday (yesterday).

All that for $41.00.

OK, but at what price?

$238 billion loss for U.S. mail; Saturday delivery may end

$2.39 on my end.. 6.5oz 1st class  But yes, the PO is undercharging thats why they are going broke. I understand that. But if they are dumb enough to undercharge, I'm smart enough to use them.

Meh......My guess the waste at USPS is a piker when compaired to the waste from the military. Both are mandated by our Constitution.

I'd really rather not be left to the tender mercies of UPS or Fed-Ex thank you very much.

I'm all for cutting the programs not covered by the Constitution to fund those that are.

Won't happen though.

I have a package coming to me that was mailed on Saturday priority mail.  The track and confirm on the USPS site says estimited time of deliver July 25th.

The mailman has come today and still no package.  Their track and confirm sucks compared to UPS

I have never had a problem when USPS handles my mail or packages....when FedEx Smartpost or DHL get's involved in getting mail to my local post office, it goes from 2-3 days to 5-6...

It's the reason I have refused to buy from any business that gives a package to either Smartpost or DHL and relies on them to get it to the post office.
