This is what plumber use to use.  Go the big box home improvement store.  If you find a drain cleaner in a plastic bottle then sealed in a heavy duty plastic bag, this is the one you want.  The drain cleaners with lots of flashy advertisements printed on them are not as strong.

I used that stuff once and it ate multiple holes in some metal drain pipe that I didn't know I had.  This is an old home and somewhere along the line someone replaced both of the ends that I could see with PVC, but left the run of metal pipe in the wall.  

That was expensive and I'll never use that shit again.
