whats the "algebra" method to solve how to determine how much each person owes for the hotel portion of a trip if the 3 night cost is $670 where there are 12 people but only 5 of them are staying 3 nights, the other 7 are only staying 2 nights. I just split the 670 into 3 to determine the daily cost, then for each day divided that by the number of people for each day to determine the daily cost for all 12. Came up with 37.22 for the 2nighters and 81.89 for the 3nighters. Couldnt figure out the way to write an equation for this though. How to set up an equation(s) and is there 1 variable required or 2? |
