Hello,
I just began doing some Exec/ PSD work and I am looking for shoes to wear with my suits. The issue is I need some thing that is versatile enough for running, dynamic movement and defensive driving, but it still has to be very professional. Any suggestions? I appreciate all the input. Thank you. |

Look at Eccos. They are very comfortable for standing over prolonged periods.
I also found some dress shoes by Rockport that are great for that, and have sort of crepe rubber soles so you can run in them. I'd have to look into the depths of my closet to see if I can find the name of them. |

Doc Martens. Looks good. Is there a particular model you'd suggest? Thank you for the help. Dude... Do not wear Doc Martens with a suit. Please. If what you suggested is better I wont. Doc Martens look more like a shoe you ware with jeans to work on the car. But I do appreciate everyones help! |

k swiss tubes of course. I cant wear running shoes with a 2 button suit. Good try though. K, try these ETA: or Rockport. Rockport's probably look better but the Merrel's are much more comfortable for me. |
| When I was a part time security guard I preferred wearing my black 8" Bates Uncle Sam gave me. They were much more comfortable to be in for long periods of time than any other shoe I tried, and with a good polish they look like your average pair of low quarters under a pair of slacks. |

How well do those take a shine? |
|
Obviously the suede ones don't.
The smooth leather lace-ups that I have hold a shine very well. |

Thank You Friend. never did any security but when I was a suit and tie sales weasel I have to tell you those are nice for 12+ hour days on hard floors you can run pretty good when the sales office showroom and service departments are over 300ft apart |

I want to say they no longer make them
but I had a pair of doc marten dress shoes traditional dress shoe lace up top with the doc martin sole comfortable to stand in all day but were really stiff. so I think they would fail for the running part. tag for ideas. not that im going to be running anywhere but havent found a dress shoe than can hold up to everyday without looking like crap after 2 weeks |

I wear these all day at work, mostly desk jockey but sometimes at a warehouse or loading area. They are really comfortable and blend in with dress clothes. Mine are brown but I may get some black ones. |

You should go with dress boots
Alden, extremely expensive but will last a lifetime, mine work great in the wet too, they're also made with a steel shank just like your old jungle boots. Go for the indy model with commando sole. Red wing also makes some very nice dress boots that are considered on par with the Aldens durability at 2/3 the price. Converse duty shoe if you're a cheapo. |

I used to wear polished Rocky 911 Low Quarters
http://www.rockyboots.com/Product-Details/4934/1600FQ9111101/Rocky-911-Athletic-Oxford-Duty-Shoes/ Don't recall them looking like a running shoe back then, they were just like the 911 boot but just the foot of it. This one looks nice, I may just have to order a pair! http://www.rockyboots.com/Product-Details/4925/1600FQ0020251/Rocky––Walker-Plain-Toe-Oxford-Duty-Shoe/ I also have a very nice "On your Feet a lot" pair of shoes that came from a Kohls store... good insoles and comfortable shoes. |
