Is awesome. Unfortunately I can't quite get my homemade recipes right. Tried 3 different ones so far. Until then I am paying $3 for a half gallon carton.

Local mexican hole in the wall place has the best Horchata! I found out my tiny mexican place uses powdered mix and adds some spices. This local place makes all their salsa's and chili's from scratch including the Horchata. However it does feel like you have crossed the border when you enter the establishment. It is a mexican restaurant for Mexicans not texmex watered down crap. |

Never heard of it before now. Just googled it and still have a question - is it served hot or cold? cold |

I first had it at a place that my coworkers were afraid to enter. It was awesome and helped cool off the hot food. They make it from a mix that is sold at Mexican grocery stores. Made it at home from said mix. No one else liked it. More for you! |

horchata is amazing. IIRC it's made by soaking rice overnight straining, then adding other stuff. Wish I had paid attention... other ingredients include vanilla and cinnamon They say grind the rice up in a coffee grinder, soak in water overnight with a little cinnamon, strain in cheese cloth, add sugar, vanila, almond extract. So they say |
