Need some input from guys who have experience with camcorders & firearms.
I need some footage of me shooting at a range. Mostly just shooting a handgun with the focus on the handgun & not me. Are there any special things I need to do concerning the camera picking up the audio or does the cameraman need to be further back? Cam is a Sony Handycam DCR-SX45. |

I'm not real sure what you're asking but we film just about all of our hunts and we have cameras in very close proximity to firing weapons all of the time. Everything from Sony Handycams to big Canon movie cameras.
Just don't shoot the camera or the cameraman and you'll be fine. Also, if your camera records to DVD you might get some dropped frames from the concussion of the gun if it's up to close. If you're recording to a memory card then you'll be ok. |
