Please help settle arguement. What years did colt make the SP1?

From 64 to 85 I think.

January 2, 1964 the first SP1s were release for commercial sales. The SP1s continued until the Sporter II models were released in 1985.

My first AR was an SP1.

I think it was made in 1978 but I don't remember.
