I had an ammo can with 2ea 20rd 20mm Flak 38 Magazines fall on my big toe once....just once. It hurt so F-ing bad, I couldn't sleep for the toe having its own pulse.... Heating a needled took too f-ing long, hurt like hell pushing on it. I finally got my handy Dremel Tool out, with a sanding drum, and little by little, sanded the toenail, between fits of pain from vibration, until it was thin enough to lance with a needle. And when I did, that black f-ing blood hit the ceiling. Darn toe felt better..... |

Quoted: That nail is nasty but you should probably get that melanoma checked out. Thanks for the concern. I recently went to a melanoma specialist, he said that the coloration of my moles was consistent across the board. If I wanted, he could set me up with appointments to take biopsy samples for testing. I declined. |

Quoted: OK, I get the pliers.... But what do I do with the "Small punch"? Your not gonna like this, but it must be done. Go to your toolbox... get your pliers and a small punch. You will need a sock or something between your teeth, and maybe do a couple shots first. and don't forget the "after" pic. Godspeed..... son. ![]() ![]() |

Quoted: A drillbit works much easier. Simply get a medium size drill bit and drill a hole into the toenail. It will allow the blood to escape thus relieving pressure and saving the nail. Won't work since he did it in march. I smashed a thumbnail a few years ago and ended up running a nail file over the surface. The parts the were detached came off, and the stuff that wasn't stayed. It wasn't pretty, but it was less uncomfortable. |

As the bit went through the other side of the nail, it "grabbed", and the bit shot right down into my finger, underneath my nail. Yes, choice words werds were uttered. |

Quoted: Going after a rattle snake...and kicking at it...with flip-flops? You're damn lucky that you only injured your toe. Seriously...flip-flops while dealing with a rattlesnake? ![]() This is Texas. A Rattlesnake is kinda like your toilet won't flush up in the great state of Misery. Common. Also, these aren't Pine rattlers, they are just plain old western diamond backs. When I was 15, I caught a 6'9" diamondback. By hand. I held his head underwater for at least 30 minutes. (Wanted to save the hide without bullet holes, big bucks from buyers) When I brought him out, knowing he was dead, the fucker spun and bit me on the palm of my right hand ![]() Still have marks on my hand from that incident. The venom hurts, but is not very dangerous unless you are allergic to venomous stings. I'm not, so dealt with my hand swelling up, hurting like hell, and feeling like general crap for awhile. This was back in the mid '80's, if it happened to my son he would go to the emergency room ASAP.

Quoted: Too late for that. This nail is coming off. Wish I had known about these methods, but I was too involved with my Grandmother's death to care, at the time...Quoted: A drillbit works much easier. It will allow the blood to escape thus relieving pressure and saving the nail. this. much better than yanking the nail off Now, I just wish it would go ahead and fall off. It's dead, no reason to stretch it out. |
