These were my exact thoughts as well, but figured what the hell I didnt buy it. |

Quoted:
Can you use this to fire in bursts, or is it just an automatic mag dump once you pull the trigger? Not sure the guy who let me fire it seem to be able to do 3 and 5 round bursts pretty consistent, but I was inconsistent on my burst sometime it would be 8 or 10 rounds. |
| I also had the chance to dump a mag using one of these. I have to say I was critic when I first saw them, but after trying it, you couldn't chisel the smile off my face. I think the price is probably too high, but I was surprised how accurately I was able to shoot with it. It's certainly not a full auto m16, but it certainly is fun. |

I've got two class 3 weapons in my safe on loan from the taxpayers. I can shoot them whenever I want... But I pretty much never do. This is a cool idea, but I think a lot of people are going to regret buying them once the novelty wears off. I'd buy a true full auto rifle if it cost about the same as the semi-auto version. Just my .02 |

Good timing for this thread. My boss's husband just brought home a NIB SOG AR in a Slidefire today. Let me run a couple mags through it too. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face with a Brillo pad. Way too much fun. Yeah, you run through a lot of ammo without accomplishing much, but what else is full auto really good for? I'm very tempted to get one myself now.
I'd especially like to get one before the ATF inevitably decides to make them illegal, which I'm completely convinced WILL happen at some point. All it will take is some douche nozzle robbing a bank or something and trying to shoot it out with police with a Slidefire, and poof, no more Slidefires. |

I'd consider it for a cheap AR/range toy but for two things...
1. Cost 2. Akins Accelerator ETA: I don't trust the ATF to conclusively decide anything, letter or not, they make the rules and can decide on a whim what us peons are allowed to have. No way I'm paying that kind of money just to have to have it destroyed by ATF. Don't give me the boating accident stuff either, if that were the case we'd be keeping unregistered MGs and suppressors. I might not agree with it but I'm following the law, don't need any JBTs breaking down my door. |
| Yes, I've seen the ATF Letter (my pet nickname for it) in person and I've even used it on a friend's rifle. It's not my cup of tea and I'm firmly convinced that at some point the ATF will declare it to be verbotten (because the ATF is dildos that way) but if you're into that sort of thing more power to you. |

My question is, how are they going to know you have one? If you don't buy it from the manufacturer (there are several on gunbroker), how could they ever know? Certainly if you had one at a range, the locals aren't going to know if the ATF outlawed them, right? |
