I posted this in the SF, but figure it might get a different kind of attention in GD.  This is a good way to get started with food storage.

Good video OP.



I have done the same thing with my preps and have about 12 5 gal. buckets worth of dry goods ready to go with more ready to be packaged.

I like the the shape of the buckets you are using but have some concern about them being able to allow light in.

Most of the time your stuff will be stored in the basement a closet or what ever and shouldn't matter so its probably not a bad thing.

Yeah, they're buried in the closet now, I'm not worried at all.  Like I said in the vid most of my preps are pre-staged at various BOLs, I only keep enough at home to fill the car once.  These will pack in the car MUCH better than 5 gallons.
