Volkswagen announced they're coming out with a "more muscular" version of the VW Bug. They said the current Bug is too feminine and cartoon-like. The new Bug will be $19,000 with a turbo version starting at $24,000.

I was thinking if they wanted a more muscular version, they should just rerelease this:

The automakers have to do that on purpose.

Release a model that is cutesy, market it to women, then when everybody gets tired of it, redesign it to be manlier.

They do the same thing with Mustangs, Camaros, etc......V8 for guys, V6 for the girls.

Any redesign without a flower pot on the dashboard would just be a step down at this point.
